REPL Dr. Advice® NO. 121 Otalgin

Indication: Otalgia (Ear pain) is a common presentation. In the primary case setting with many diverse causes, pain that originates from the ear is called primary otalgia and the most common causes are otitis media and otitis externa.

Mode of Action:

               1.     Aconitum Napellus Q:  Earache, Sensation as of drop of water in the ear.

               2.     Pulsatilla Q:  Otalgia worse at night

               3.     Chamomilla Q:  Swelling and heat driving patient frantic.

               4.     Belladonna Q:  Tearing pain in the middle and external ear.

               5.     Silicea 6:  Fetid discharge, Roaring in ears.

               6.     Gelsemium Sempervirens Q:  Desire to be quiet to be left alone.

Expiry: *Only Manufacturing Date (Mfg.) is mentioned on the package. Expiry is five years from the date of Manufacturing.

Doses: 5 to 10 Drops with 1/4 cup of water to be taken orally 3 times daily or as prescribed by the physician.
